Commercial Cleaning Celebrates World Health Day

Celebrate World Health Day with a professional commercial cleaning service!

We interrupt your regularly scheduled Spring Cleaning Series to bring you this week’s blog post. Today, April 7th, is World Health Day, courtesy of the World Health Organization (WHO). While the World Health Organization is using the day to spread the word about preventing diabetes, we wanted to seize the day to talk to you about the important relationship between health and commercial cleaning. Without further ado, here is that talk.

Commercial Cleaning for Health

Whether it’s preventing cold outbreaks, containing germs during allergy season, or cleaning public restrooms for the sake of health, there’s a lot to be gained from a commercial cleaning. It can be as simple as removing allergens from the air, carpet, and furniture with a good dusting or vacuuming. On the other side of that coin, it can be as detailed as a thorough medical office cleaning to ensure that the area is sterile, patients won’t become infected or sicker than they already are, and that employees don’t get sick at work. Looking at any of our services, there are many ways that health comes into play. Commercial cleaning is about more than just looking good — it’s also about keeping your office and its workers up and running.

Staying Healthy While Cleaning

Ironically, it’s also important to take steps to stay healthy while cleaning. It isn’t uncommon for commercial cleaning products to be harmful to ingest, caustic to bare skin, or give off noxious fumes. Accidentally letting any of these happen can be bad news. Make sure you read warning labels so you can treat your cleaning chemicals properly if you’re doing any office cleaning between our visits. Wearing a mask over your mouth and nose and rubber gloves on your hands will help prevent a lot of these accidents. Finally, it’s entirely possible that coming into contact with germy surfaces will somehow manage to get you sick. Again, gloves and a mask will help, but you should also wash your hands thoroughly when you’re done cleaning, especially before eating or touching your face in any way.
